AviClear for Acne Treatment
Acne is a very common dermatological skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It occurs when hair follicles under the skin become clogged, resulting in skin bumps (known as pimples or zits) that appear on the surface of the skin. Outbreaks on the skin can range from mild to severe, with some pimples becoming inflamed, cyst-like, and/or sore. AviClear is the newest form of acne treatment on the market, utilizing laser technology to both alleviate and prevent outbreaks on the face. After having been tested and proven via an abundance of clinical trials, it is now an approved method of treatment by the FDA.

How Does AviClear Work?
AviClear works by using laser technology to target acne at the source. By gently pulsing a 1726nm wavelength laser into the skin, this treatment is able to damage the glands responsible for producing oil (known as sebum) that clogs skin pores.
By limiting the amount of sebum production, the skin becomes less of an ideal environment for bacteria and dead skin cells to collect. This reduces the population of current pimples and lessens the likelihood of outbreaks reoccurring in the future.
AviClear is an effective and efficient method of treating and preventing acne, as significant results can be observed with only three 30-minute sessions over the course of three months. With little-to-no downtime, it is great for those wanting a painless, long-lasting treatment without sacrificing any of their day-to-day activities.
Does AviClear Work on Hormonal Acne?
For hormonal, cystic, and inflammatory acne, AviClear has been clinically shown to be an effective treatment method. The treatment is safe for all skin types and tones, it is a fantastic treatment choice for people who are concerned about how chemical treatments or drugs may interact with their skin.
Currently, AviClear is only approved to treat acne on the face. However, other treatment options can be used in combination with AviClear to treat dermatological conditions in other areas.
When Will I See Results?
Like most acne laser treatments, multiple sessions are required for patients to see optimal and long-lasting results. AviClear patients engage in three treatments that take just 30 minutes each spaced out at 3-4 week intervals. As such, a complete round of treatments takes anywhere from 2-3 months. After this period, approximately 80% of AviClear patients saw a significant improvement in their skin’s appearance. These results should continue to improve over time.
Who is a Good Candidate for AviClear?
AviClear is designed to treat mild to severe acne and all types of acne (e.g., cystic, inflammatory and hormonal), so virtually anyone who struggles with acne can benefit from this laser treatment. This sets AviClear apart from many other laser acne treatments that only suit certain skin tones due to their targeting of melanin. This treatment leaves melanin alone and only hones in on sebaceous glands. Age is a non-factor, too, so teens and older adults alike can opt for this option.
